Summary


Sustainable Land Management (SLM) practices can take carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in trees, shrubs and soils and can also reduce emissions of other greenhouse gases from livestock and fertilizer use, but how much carbon dioxide can be stored and what is the potential of SLM technologies to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases?

Here you learn how users can benefit from the linkage of the Carbon Benefit Project (CBP) tool, the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT) and alignment with the mobile app LandPKS to answer these questions for a landscape, a watershed or a project area, generating information for sustainable management of our soils.

Webinar on World Soil Day 2020

An overview of the link between the Carbon Benefits Project (CBP) tools and the WOCAT database of sustainable land management technologies. This video show you how to upload a sustainable land management technology from the WOCAT database into the CBP system. It then take you through the process of completing data in the CBP for a greenhouse gas analysis and finally linking your GHG report back to your WOCAT entry in the database.

I am Dr. Nandini from BAIF Development Research Foundation, India. We are participating in this virtual EU Fair and have shared our work on 'Soil restoration for achieving sustainable livelihoods, climate change adaptation and mitigation' through stand no 37.     This is also to share with you all that we have planned a sharing event on 25th May between 14.00 to 15.00 IST (+/- 5.5 UTC). The topic of this sharing event is 'Environmentally sound and climate smart program interventions through BAIF Development Research Foundation', India. It will be based on BAIF, India's efforts on ground to build resilience of vulnerable farming communities against climate change effects by introducing on ground, the multisectorial program interventions for resilient farming system.
