The Project
| Name | Roadmap for soil carbon - market based solutions. |
|---|---|
| Executive Summary | Australia's 2021 Soil Carbon Method is a market-based mechanism for incentivising soil carbon increase. So far 277,254 ACCU's (Australian Carbon Credit Units) have been issued across 11 projects (farms). An application for developing a roadmap to accelerate rollout of this program across Australia did not receive funding from the Australian government. This project takes a global view and will bring the same partners together if there is sufficient interest in a global roadmap. |
| Relevance for 4 per 1000 | Market based solutions are likely to be more effective in catalysing material climate action through increasing soil carbon stocks. |
