Regular Metered Taxis are easily accessible outside of the airport, with the flag down rate of AED 25. Estimated fare costs up to 80 AED from Dubai International Airport to Dusit Thani Dubai and the travel time takes approximately 20 minutes.

All people traveling from outside the UAE will require a visa, regardless of their national passport and must have a passport which is valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of entry into the UAE.

The electronic visa called a “Special Entry Permit” will be free of charge for COP28 officiallly registered participants. After approval of the registration via the UNFCCC Online Registration System, participants will receive a link to apply for the visa as part of the UNFCCC registration confirmation email.

The COP 28 UAE Visa will be a single-entry permit, valid for 30 days from the date of arrival. Please note that this COP 28 UAE Visa will indicate date of issue and valid until 12 December 2023, meaning that the COP 28 UAE Visa holder should utilize the visa to “enter” the UAE prior to 12 December 2023. Airports have been informed of the validity of the COP 28 UAE Visa.

For people not UNFCCC registered delegate, i.e attending Green Zone or other events such as the 4 per 1000 Initiative Day, they can apply for a standard visit visa or receive a tourist visa on arrival if applicable. For more information please visit www.icp.gov.ae

Virtual-only registration is also available for COP 28. The UNFCCC “Virtual-only” registration in the Online Registration System (ORS) facilitates virtual only (online) access to delegates from Parties and observer organizations by providing access to UNFCCC meetings remotely, provided the meeting is open to the respective delegate and has the possibility for online participation.
