Description | This event will be a seminar in West Africa bringing together political actors, scientists, civil society and farmers concerned with the preservation/restoration of forest/post-forest soils. Participants will be institutional actors (including ECOWAS), policy planners, researchers & development practitioners from national governments & institutions, CGIAR centers, Advanced Research Institutions, farmers organizations, NGOs, private sectors, foundations, philanthropists, etc. in West Africa. This mobilization will be made possible thanks to the alliance of the MEMINADER network, the "4 per 1000" Initiative, and CIRAD, co-organizers of the event. Participants may come from the coastal zone of West Africa whose context is similar in terms of forestry issues, namely: Cameroon, Benin, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo. Representatives from countries outside this zone may also be present to share their experience on soil management in (post)forest areas. Poster Exhibition & Presentations : All participants are invited to submit posters on their projects and/or research as well as abstracts of their ideas, innovations, case studies that will be of interest for the preparation of the road map in relation with the subject of the sub-regional conference. |
